April 24, 2007, Chisinau – The Workshop on: “Advancing e-Government Solutions for Friendly, Efficient and Secure Public Service” started its works today at the Republican Palace under the aegis of the Ministry of Information Development with the support of the United Nations Development Program. The first National Certificates on Computer Operation were awarded to a group of public servants that attended the computer training courses in the framework of the pilot project on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) training of 150 civil servants.

During March 5-8, 2007, a „e-Governance” project delegation, including 3 representatives from the Fiscal Service of the Republic of Moldova has made a study visit to the Fiscal Agency from Spain in order to get acquainted with the e-declaration experience.

The official Government web site www.gov.md , has a special section where users can post proposals, complains, comments and questions for the prime minister, as well as for civil servants within the Government office. The service is not accessible on-line yet, as isn’t the text of the questions and answers.

Moldova has an approved Concept of Electronic Governance

The summer of 2006 was significant for the information society in the Republic of Moldova. The Government has approved the Concept of Electronic Governance elaborated by MID with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program, according to the Action Plan provisions concerning the implementation of the National Strategy for building an Information Society „The Electronic Moldova”, approved by the Government on March 9, 2005.
