UNDP Project "Building e-Governance in Moldova" and the Ministry of Information Development presents the „Information Technologies Week in Moldova”

In Chisinau, during April 23-28, 2007 there will be held an important annual event related to the field of information society development – “Information Technologies Week in Moldova” in Chisinau, with the support of UNDP, Ministry of Information Development and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.

The basic scope of this event is to contribute to the promotion of building informational society through strengthening the capacity of the state structures, science institutions, commercial and non-profit organizations, representatives of the international organizations, investing companies and the civil society together.

In the framework of the “Information Technologies Week in Moldova” will be organized a range of events, different by format, but united by common goal and common ideas of popularization of ICT and increase of the number of users of modern technologies in Moldova.

A list of events is scheduled to be realized within the framework of the “Information Technologies Week in Moldova”:
1. International Conference BIT+ “Informational Technologies – 2008” ;
2. The XVIth International specialized exhibition “ComInfo Moldova 2008”;
3. The Vth International Conference on information security “Information security 2008”
4. National competition for the best web page created in Moldova and for Moldova – “WEBTOP”;
5. National competition for the journalist "IT-Moldova in the vision of journalist";
6. National School Olympiad on Informatics.

Also, in the framework of this Week will be held the ordinary meeting of the Informatization Commission of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, in work of which will take part experts and specialists from CIS and Eastern Europe, acting in the field of information technologies with the scope of discussing the problems and perspectives of the development of information technologies.

Ministry of Information Development is inviting representatives of the state entities, science entities, commercial and non-governmental organizations, international organizations, investment companies and mass-media to take part in the events holding in the framework of the “Information Technologies Week in Moldova”.
